Photoshop Create fancy frame

In this tutorial I will show you how to create simple, yet, fancy frame using Photoshop.


Step 1

Let’s create a document 6X8”. Click on the foreground color and choose light blue color. Fill your background with this color by pressing AtL-Backspace

Step 2

Let’s add some texture to the background. Go under the Filter menu, under Texture and choose Texturizer. When the dialog appears, choose Canvas, enter 130% for Scalling, and enter 4 for Relief. In the Light pop-up menu choose Top Right, and then click OK to apply your changes.

Step 3

With applied texture, our image looks too intense. Let’s fix it. Go to Edit menu and choose Fade Texturizer. When the dialog box appears, write 25% for Opacity and click OK.

Step 4

Create a new layer. Then press letter “m” to switch to the Rectangular Marguee tool. Draw a rectangular section.

Step 5

Go under the Edit menu and choose Stroke. When the dialog appears, click on the color swatch and choose white color. Set the Width to 1 pixel. Click OK.

Step 6

With your selection still in place go to Select menu, under Modify, choose Contract. Enter 4 pixels in the dialog. Click OK. Add the same stroke to this selection by going under the Edit menu and choosing Stroke. Click OK. Don’t deselect it yet.

Step 7

Under Select menu, choose Inverse. On the layers, click on the Background layer to make it active, then go under the image menu, under Adjustments, choose Levels. Enter 133 for output levels. Click ok and then deselect by pressing Control-D.
